Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT)
Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) can:
- Stabilise mental health crises quickly and safely.
- Avoid unnecessary hospital admissions by providing care at home.
- Facilitate early discharge from inpatient units by offering continued support at home.
- We provide a 24/7 rapid response to individuals in acute psychological distress.
CRHTTs typically support individuals who are:
- Experiencing severe symptoms of mental illness (for example, psychosis, suicidal ideation, acute anxiety or depression).
- At risk of self-harm or harm to others.
- In need of urgent mental health support but do not require inpatient admission (or are being discharged from hospital).
They offer:
- Comprehensive mental health assessments.
- Daily or frequent home visits by mental health professionals (nurses, psychiatrists, social workers).
- Medication management and monitoring.
- Risk assessments and creation of safety/crisis plans.
- Support for families and carers.
- Coordination with other services (GPs, community mental health teams, social care).
