Opener Suggestion...

Hi everyone, and welcome to tonight’s WhatsApp live chat which is all about Coping with Mum Guilt and Judgement. We have XX, YY, and ZZ here with you this evening.

It can feel impossible to fend off the ‘should haves’, ‘could haves’ and unsolicited judgements/advice from others. We know this is an emotive topic and that there are no quick fixes, but we’re hoping by bringing some of these things into the light and working together to find ways to overcome those horrible feelings these comments can bring, each day it might get a little easier.

You’re very welcome to join in whether you’re new to the group, have been here for a while, or have mostly been reading along and now feel ready to say hello.

Please do support each other too, we’re all together in this and you bring so much by sharing your experiences and supporting each other.

Thank you, your peer supporters

Possible Questions to ask during the chat...

How have you experienced judgement in your motherhood journey? In what ways/scenarios have you felt judged?

How does it affect how you feel about yourself when you feel guilt? How does it affect your mental health?

What do you think would be helpful to you when you feel judged/guilt? What do you need in that moment?

What tips/advice would you share with each other for dealing with judgemental comments?

What is one positive reminder you can give yourself today?
