Self care doesn’t have to be big, it can be as simple as:

  • Going to the toilet when you need to
  • Making yourself a drink/filling a bottle of water for yourself in the morning
  • Making yourself lunch
  • Prioritising yourself and taking baby along (i.e. if you need a walk and some fresh air, can baby nap in the pushchair?)
  • Muting social media / triggering contacts
  • Feeling in control - things like TOM https://theorganisedmum.com/

Look for achievable self care ideas that work for you. It can be helpful to make a note on your phone so you can access them quickly and to think about ideas for different situations, for example when you are at home or out in public.
